Pit Bull terriers were not referred to as 'nanny dogs' – that phrase was used for Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
I imagine that the queen could take her corgis to Italy; if she really wanted!
Pit bulls are no better/worse than other dogs but their bite is potentially ferocious – sadly, that aspect of them has made them attractive to some people who shouldn't be allowed to keep any animal.
