A Chicago firefighter is The Dog Files’ latest hero after she brought not one, but two dogs back to life using CPR.

Chicago Fire Dept. firefighter Tammy Rodriguez responded to a fire on the back porch of a home Friday afternoon and pulled two dogs from the blaze — an adult dog and a puppy, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight said.

“She rescued two dogs, performed CPR on them and brought both of them back to life,” Knight said.

The dog was doing well Friday night, but the puppy was being monitored overnight at an animal hospital, he said.

The fire had spread to the rear porch of a neighboring home and damaged some of the interior of the buildings, but the damage was not extensive, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. No one else was injured in the blaze.
