It was just a normal day at New Jersey’s Double Trouble State Park for Frank Delarosa, until one-year-old pit bull Lilly came running up to him. Not sure what to do, Frank tried bringing Lilly to the park warden’s office, but Lilly kept pulling him to the cranberry bogs where her pet parent, Dona Timoney was lying unconscious.
Timoney was subsequently taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ.
Lilly the pit bull is a true hero, as is Timoney, who had rescued her from a drug house in North Carolina.
For now, Lilly is hanging out with Timoney’s daughter while mom recuperates.
The Dog Files wishes Dona Timoney a full recovery and says thanks to great, New Jersey Heroes!

Finally Ohio did something special!!! We voters in Ohio “changed” the term “Vicious’ from defining the FANTASTIC AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER!!!!! More States need to wake up & pay attention to this wonderful breed!!!!! PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED!~~
I totally agree its not the breed it’s the owner.Very SMART DOG!!
When will people ever learn that it isn’t the dog, it is the owner. Some people shouldn’t have dogs period. Mine aren’t the most obedient but at 10 and 9 years old they have never bitten anybody. I know a couple of pit bulls and one is truly a lap dog and she is friendly and loveable.
