Nike Re-Signs Michael Vick, Dogs Once Again Disappointed In Humankind

NikeConvicted animal abuser and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has reportedly just signed an endorsement deal with Nike.

A spokesman for Nike says while they don’t approve of what Vick did, they still have no problem with him representing their brand:

“Michael acknowledges his past mistakes,” Nike spokesman Derek Kent said. “We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field.”

Vick served 18 months in prison and two months of home confinement back in 2007 after pleading guilty to running a dog fighting operation.

This is the first time in Nike history that the sporting goods company re-signed an athlete after letting him go.

I can absolutely guarantee you that I will never purchase anything made by Nike or anything from Subway.  I’m tired of hearing how it wasn’t Michael Vick’s fault; he fell in with the wrong group of people and trusted the wrong people.  BS!  He knew what he was doing when he killed dogs who didn’t want to fight.  He hung them, drown them in a 5 gallon bucket, electrocuted them, and even worse.  As far as I’m concerned you do just magically transform from such a heartless killer of innocent animals.  God may forgive him for what he did to innocent dogs, but I will never forgive him and I’m disgusted with the NFL, Nike, Subway and many others who believe he’s a changed man.  Once a heartless, soulness monster, always a killer of innocent animals.  Forget you Nike!!!!!!!!!!

“God may forgive him….but I will never forgive him” people like you make me laugh, does you find your opinion and your feelings on the matter override God’s judgment ? because that’s what your comment say’s to me.people of religon are so hypocritical…Im sure the meat you eat in your hamburgers comes from animals that weren’t all that happy in life and they were KILLED FOR YOUR CONSUMPTION. grow up. if you wanna make a statement, go adopt some dogs or spend some of your cash bettering their lifestyle. Humans are animals. don’t forget that when you come across someone who acts like a beast.

Your replies make no sense. First, I am a vegetarian — so go don’t even go there with the meat consumption.  I was previously the West Side  Bird Rescue, Dog Rescue and counselled people who had monkeys as pets (wild animals do not make good pets).  I have personally adopted 4 abused dogs (2 of them were 8 years old) and have found homes for many many others.  You talk of “killing for consumption.”  I do not think that argument is relevant to Vick’s case; he did not kill for consumption — he killed just to kill — not humanely, but with deliberate torture and heinous acts of cruelty.  It is people like you who contribute to the cruelty to animals by always citing “you eat meat” like it excuses the horrible acts against animals by others.  You and people like you are what is wrong with this world.  You have no conscience and contribute nothing worthwhile.

I’ve never been a big fan of Nike ever since I learned a bit about their manufacturing process, and now they have pretty much slipped to the bottom of my list. I mean, with all the other fine, upstanding athletes they could have signed, what were they thinking?

I agree my family and I will never purchase Nike or any other product that he endorses. I actually went through our house and got rid of all of the clothes and products that had Nike on them. We went shopping for new shoes etc.

Nike resigning Michael Vick should be a boom for other manufacturers.  Our family is also getting rid of anything Nike and will be buying other brands.  How anyone can think the short time Vick served in prison makes up for the heinous acts he committed.  Anyone who can do what he did to a helpless animal who only wants to please its owner can never be trusted not to commit some other atrocity in the future.  Shame on Nike for their total lack of compassion for dogs and their owners across our country!!

Get a life people he has paid his debt to society. That’s what’s wrong with people, you don’t see anything, but the bad in a person. Think about it they gave him two years for dog fighting and then that baby killing bitch walk. You are the same dumb asses that would try to save your dogs while it was being attacked by a bear lol. Don’t get me wrong animal cruelty is wrong at any level, but he shouldn’t be punished forever. Obviously god has forgiven him or he wouldn’t be as blessed as he is. Stop judging people because only God can judge him and you dumb asses are throwing out shit that you paid for trying to make a point that no one gives a damn about. Nike will still be a fortune 500 company no matter how much of your hard earned money you throw down the drain and Mike Vick will still be a rich and incredible athlete! Get a grip because if someone gave you free tickets to the Superbowl sitting on the 50 yard line and the Eagles were playing in it you would have your ass right there with a bud light on youre hand cheering you’re ass off. Think about it..

If you think, to name a few, drowning, electrocuting, slamming a dog against a wall or concrete numerous times until it is dead is only worth a short prison sentence, then you are just as sick as Vick is.  It is interesting to see who supports Vick — most of the supporters use a vocabulary of a mental cripple.  And for your information, if someone gave me Superbowl tickets and money to get there, I would not attend if Vick were playing.  You are a very unenlightened soul and there is no way God has forgiven him — he will have to do a lot more repenting than he has done to have God’s forgiveness.  Not everything is measured in money and that is the only area in which Vick is “blessed” right now.

I gave up Nike and Subway when they first endorse Vick. I am very ashamed  and let down that a big company like Nike endorsed him, not only once, but twice. I am still never spending a cent on Nike or Subway. There is no excuse for what he did.
