Richard Hunter, the man who took the now famous video of Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway handing a key to Dallas to Eagles QB Michael Vick, addressed the Dallas City Council.
In a brief statement, Hunter addressed Caraway, who is absent today. He also asked Mayor Tom Leppert to take back the key given to Vick.
Hunter showed the council a picture of his black pit bull Mel, used by Vick as a bait dog to train fighting dogs before he was seized by authorities.
“On Saturday I was horrified to witness Mayor Pro Tem Caraway gleefully proclaiming that a power had been bestowed on him to give the man who tried to kill my dog a key to my city,” Hunter said.
Hunter called Caraway’s action an embarrassment to the city “rouge decision to besmirch the reputation of the city.”
Only Leppert responded to Hunter, thanking him for adopting Mel and stressing that Caraway did not hand out an official key to Dallas.

I’m a little confused. If the Mayor of Dallas is Tom Leppert then who the hell is Mayor Caraway and what city does he represent?…and what KEY did he hand out…the one to his vehicle…Also, I cannot believe that the only comment Tom Leppert made was that it wasn’t the key to Dallas. Thought Texans had some backbone!!!
Caraway is the Mayor Pro Tem. If Leppert runs for Senate (as he is apparently expected to do so) then Caraway is the one that takes his place. And we have plenty of backbone. The dog owner is also a Texan, in case you didn’t notice that part.
being raised from the age of 8 as a dog abuser as he admitted to on TV is sickening and can not be forgive nor should it be .the dogs he killed never got 1 chance why does he get 2 WHY WHY WHY ? because this world is sick. people defend him stand up for him but yet he only does what he does now because he got caught not because he care’s .he is should be removed from the NFL regardless of how much money he can make them.there are plenty of good honest people that deserve what he has taken from this world .ABUSE HAS NO EXCUSE EVER ANIMAL OR PEOPLE
I hope Mr. Hunter starts a campaign to “Take Back the Key”. What an abomination. Vick is a thug!!!!!!!An over-paid egotistical ass, who happens to be able to throw a ball!
Though it’s hard the less there’s talked about this caracter the better!!!
Sick people of Dallas Texas…..retract the key to the city, and give it to someone that deserves it, not a dog abuser!!! You should be ashamed of yourselves for even thinking to give him such an award….BAD, BAD,BAD!~!!
The interim Mayor did it. The people of Dallas had nothing to do with it.
