CUMBERLAND, Md. — The social networking site Facebook helped save the lives of four dogs in Cumberland this weekend who were left at a home where no one seemed to be living.
The 11 News I-Team was made aware of the situation when a Baltimore animal rescue volunteer who was visiting Cumberland put out the word about the animals’ plight.
The I-Team obtained videos that were taken Friday afternoon that showed the dogs either confined inside or chained outside the unoccupied house.
Michelle Ingrodi, of Charm City Rescue, said she was visiting relatives in the area when she found out the dogs were there alone. She said she fed them through a window opening and took the video.
“The dogs had been in there a long time. They didn’t get walked. They don’t get played with,” Ingrodi said. “They were neglected. They lived in there. The smell was nothing I ever want to smell again.”
