UPDATE 2: Dog Files Adoption Day: Help A Homeless Pup Find A Home!

UPDATE 2: Gypsy and Betsy are safe! Because of a generous donation from Dog Filer, Menna Kearns, (YAAAYYY, MENNA) Melody was able to pull both dogs from the high kill shelter and get housing for them while they get spayed and ready for adoption.

We could still use a few more donations to help with their housing while we try to get them adopted. If you could see it in your heart to donate to a great cause (Gypsy and Betsy) we would really appreciate it! You can donate directly below us.

So please spread the word around, because Gypsy and Betsy don’t have forever homes yet. Yes, they are safe, but we still need someone (or two) to adopt these cute doggies and give them the loving home they truly deserve.

Thanks! And Menna? Two little dogs have a second chance at life because of you!

— Kenn

UPDATE 1: Good news and bad news. Sadie and Benny were adopted. They are safe. Mack has been euthanized. Gypsy has till August 12th. Betsy has till August 14th. PLEASE, help up out and save Gypsy and Betsy!

— Kenn

These dogs are currently located at the Martinez California Animal Shelter near San Francisco. If you are interested in any of the dogs listed or have any additional questions please email us here or call 510-709-6680. Please include your phone number so we can expedite things if you want to adopt. As always, we don’t have much time here. These dogs are scheduled to be put down this week!

We realize the Dog Files is a national website. So if you aren’t in the area, please don’t think you can’t help save one of our dogs. We will work with you to the best of our ability to get the dog you chose to you. Please open your heart to a shelter dog in need!

There are many ways you can help if you are unable to adopt one of the pups.

1. Sharing this post on twitter, facebook, email, craigslist, everyone you know and to rescue groups and no-kills in your area.

2. Fostering a dog by taking one into your home (and away certain death at the shelter) and taking care of it while you (with our help) look for it’s forever home.

3. Donating a few dollars to the Dog Files so we can help get the dogs out of the high kill shelter and chip in for the medical treatment that might be necessary.

4. Get the word out for people to follow the Dog Files on our Facebook Fan Page and Twitter!

BETSY: ID#A618017 – Due To Be Euthanized 8/14

(Below) Hi everyone! My name is Betsy and I’m a female, tan Chihuahua – Smooth Coated mix. The shelter thinks I am about 6 years old. I have been at the shelter for a long time now, I don’t know why no one wants me. The volunteers always tell me I’m a really good girl, so how come I’m still here? I heard my time is almost up and I don’t like the sound of that! I know I’m not a puppy but I’m still a very happy girl! Isn’t that what matters? I promise I’ll be a good girl! Please adopt me!

GYSPY: ID#A617629 – Due To Be Euthanized 8/10

(Below) Hi! My name is Gyspy and I am a female, tan Chihuahua – Smooth Coated mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years old. I have a very sweet girl and I love people! I wish someone will fall in love with me like they do with all the other kennel mates! I want to leave this place and sleep on a comfy bed next to my people. I wish I can get out of here before my time is up! Please save me!

MACK: ID#A603211 – Due To Be Euthanized 8/11

(Below) Hi there! My name is Mack and I am a neutered male, black and white Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years old. I love everyone and I love to play. I really want to get out of here… I don’t like this place at all. I wish I could find my perfect home soon. I’m running out of time and I’m scared! I just want a home. Please help!

SADIE: ID#A617315 – AVAIL G – Due To Be Euthanized 8/10

(Below) My name is Sadie and I am a female, gray and white Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old. I don’t know why I’m here but I know this isn’t a good place for dogs like me. Throughout my life I have been bred over and over and one day they dropped me off because I was of “no more use.” I love to give kisses and snuggle. The volunteers are worried about me because my time is almost up. I want to know what a home is, could you show me?

BENNY – ID#A618701 – Due To Be Euthanized 8/11!

(Below) Hi! My name is Benny and I am described as a male, black and white German Shepherd Dog mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 months old. I love to wiggle my body close to the kennel bars so people can scratch my back when they walk by. I’m a very happy guy and I really want to go out and play play play! I’m scared though… I heard my “time” is almost up. I want to be in a “home.” I heard that’s a pretty cool place to be. Some of my kennel neighbors went to their home and I can see how happy they are and the people who loves them. I want to be loved also, could you bring me home and love me?

I can foster Betsy until we find her a home. Please let me know what to do. I’m in Az so if someone could get her and meet me in maybe Palm Springs area? Let me know. Shannon dlakelife@
