Westminster Dog Show airing February 15

Our dogs are not only great companion dogs but great competitors as well.

With just two weeks before the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, last minute changes were made with the replacement of Mario Lopez with MSNBC’s Tamron Hall, who will now be co-hosting the 134th Westminster Kennel Club Dog show presented by Pedigree this year with David Frei in his 21st consecutive year with the show. Amongst them also joining the team again is year is NBC Sports Tiffany Simons reporting on the sideline.

Monday, February 15th the airing of the first hour of the show will be on USA at 8pm. The show will then switch over to CNBC at 9-11pm ET/PT portion of the broadcast. On Tuesday, February 16th USA will air all three hours which includes the crowning of the 2010 Best in Show from 8-11pm ET/PT.

With 2010 gathering up 2,500 dogs from 48 states including the District of Columbia and at least eight foreign countries. This years largest entries came from California with 251 and New York with 224.

Highest breed entry this year came from the Australian Shepherds with 44; other large entries coming from the Rhodesian Ridgebacks with 43, Labrador Retrievers with 42, Golden Retrievers with 40, and Pugs, French Bulldogs and German Shorthaired Pointers all coming in with 36.

Judging this year will be Mr. Elliott Weiss of Eagle, Idaho along with a panel of 41 judges from 18 states. With that said, this year as promised will be filled with the worlds best of breed and with great competition this year who will become Westminster Kennel Clubs 134th Best in Show?
