Salt Lake City, Utah — When a 2-year-old Australian shepherd named Millie went missing, her family assumed she had been picked up by Animal Control officers and would be waiting for them to come get her. Especially since she was well known for jumping the fence to go on solo adventures through the neighborhood.

But this time, the Garr family was shocked to find there was no dog waiting for them after several attempts were made to call and locate their missing pet. A day went by, then two, then a week, and then three weeks passed. Still, no sign of Millie.

According to Desert News, it was a teenage girl that finally discovered the missing dog when she heard barking coming from a storm drain. She immediately called 911 so officers could free the trapped victim. Animal Control officers recognized the dog immediately and were able to take her home for a tearful reunion with her family.

Amazingly, Millie is none the worse for her ordeal, other than jumping into her warm bed and needing a good meal.
