From Digital Spy.

Jesse James has revealed that his recently-returned dog was “beaten” while it was missing for three weeks.

James and wife Sandra Bullock were overjoyed when their pitbull terrier Cinnabun was found safe on Wednesday, which put an end to their frantic search following its disappearance last month.

The couple had previously made a public appeal for their pet, and even called in a pet detective to track the nine-month-old dog down.

However, James has now said that the dog sustained severe injuries and also lost 23 pounds during the 25 days she was missing.

James told Ryan Seacrest on KIIS-FM: “Someone beat the hell out of her. [But] I don’t care about all that, I’m just glad to have her back.”

When a family member is missing nothing can bring your mind away from the heartbreak and worry. This is exactly the case with Sandra Bullock and her hubby Jesse James who’s beloved pit bull CinnaBun is still missing.

Sandra Bullock has a Oscar nomination at hand, but she’s not jumping for joy. In fact, Sandra stated that she would choose the safe return of their beloved dog over winning the Oscar. Though she should have been happy about her first ever Oscar nomination, Sandra is heartbroken over the disappearance of CinnaBun.

“Sandra is devastated by the loss. Family is her number one priority and she hates to see her husband so upset. She would give anything — including her Oscar nomination — to get little CinnaBun back.”

This goes to show the importance of our dog companions and the heartbreak that follows when a furry family member is missing. CinnaBun is without a doubt a big part of this family. We pray for the safe return of their beloved CinnaBun.

From NewsBlaze.com

Jesse James is offering $5,000 for the return of his lost dog.

The biker, who is married to ‘Blind Side’ actress Sandra Bullock, has upped the reward money for the return of the dog from $2,000, a week after nine-month old pit bull terrier Cinnabun went missing.

Despite confirming he was upping the reward money, Jesse has admitted he is resigned to losing his beloved pet.

He wrote on twitter: “No sign of Cinnabun…Just working at the shop with “Mr.T” We r Starting to face the reality that Cinna is long gone (sic).”

However, he has vowed not to give up the search.
Jesse wrote on his company’s website last week: “We’ve had a few leads, but all dead ends so far, but the search is still definitely on. She’s a great little dog, and we want to find her as soon as possible.

“Please keep your eyes out for our little gal, she’s a light brown and white pit bull, nine months old, cropped ears, full tail, hazel eyes. Last seen wearing a large pink collar near West Coast Choppers and Cisco Burger on Anaheim St./710 Freeway in Long Beach.”

The biker even employed a pet detective last week to help find Cinnabun, who Jesse affectionately calls his “shop dog”.

Colleen Bush from pet agency Find Toto, said: “I’m in contact with Sandra and Jesse all day. We’ve been going back and forth checking on tips.”

From TMZ.com

Jesse James has unleashed the professionals for an assist in the search for his missing dog Cinnabun.

We’re told Jesse has hooked up with the same dog search service that tried in vain to find Jessica Simpson’s pooch after it was snatched up by a coyote last year — FindToto.com.

The company will power dial everyone around the West Coast Choppers compound in Long Beach, CA — where Cinnabun went missing Monday.

According to the automated message, 9-month-old Cinnabun was spotted yesterday roaming around the K-9 Corner dog park in Long Beach … but she’s still on the loose.

Jesse is also offering a $2,000 reward for Cinnabun’s safe return.

UPDATE: Cinnabun was spotted nearly two hours ago (yesterday) “near the 405 fwy and Seal Beach Blvd,” this according to FindToto! Getting closer!

UPDATE #2: More motivation to find the dog — one of Jesse’s friends, a model for West Coast Choppers named Kimmie Caracoles, is promising to go out on a date with anyone who finds Cinnabun … adding, “I’ll probably let you touch my boob.”

By Joey Bunch for The Denver Post

COLORADO — Julie Flint had the terrible task of breaking the news to her son this morning: The dog he had adopted while he was deployed in Iraq is missing in east Jefferson County’s Friendly Hills neighborhood.

“I told him she was missing,” Flint said this afternoon, as she began to choke back tears. “It was OK. It was OK. He said it was OK.”

The mother of the 25-year-old Colorado Army National Guard soldier had picked up Heidi, the Iraqi mutt, at Denver International Airport Tuesday night.

Just a few minutes after arriving at her new home on South Coors Street near West Quincy Avenue and C-470, south of U.S. 285, Heidi bolted out the door, after wiggling out of her collar and leash, Flint said.

“Something about opening the door freaked her out, and I wasn’t ready for that,” she said.

Flint and Jefferson County Animal Control officers are making an impassioned plea for help to find and return the soldier’s dog.

Heidi was just a stray pup roaming around the gate of Camp Ar Ramadi, about 70 miles west of Baghdad, when soldiers took her in.

Spec. Shawn Flint, a 2003 graduate of Bear Creek High School, took over the care of Heidi soon after he was deployed to the base along the Euphrates River in August. He is scheduled to come home in May, his mother said.

Operation Baghdad Pups, run by SPCA International, had helped fly the dog to Denver.

Heidi has a ID chip. She is a mixed breed about a year old. She has a white chest, floppy ears and resembles a well-fed greyhound, Flint said.

She is initially afraid of people, but if they lower themselves to her level and offer blueberry Pop-Tarts, blueberry muffins, bologna or cheese, she will come over for a snack.

Anyone who sees Heidi can contact Flint at 303-697-5843 or 303-408-5001, or the Jefferson County Animal Control at 303-271-5070.

Hey, I live in Jersey and didn’t know we had a deserted island.

By Joshua Rhett Miller For FoxNews.com

Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale — a tail, really — about a brave beagle and a family’s refusal to give up.

Buddy, a 4-year-old beagle, was reunited with his New Jersey family on Monday after 98 days spent on unihabited Gull Island in New Jersey’s Manasquan Inlet. The Kelleys, of Eatontown, N.J., lost control of Buddy on Aug. 31 as the family attempted to switch the dog’s leash while frolicking on Dog Beach in Manasquan.

Two months later, Buddy — who had lost so much weight he was little more than skin and bones — was spotted along railroad tracks near the deserted island.

“The Coast Guard said they had seen him digging in the sand,” Edith Kelley told FoxNews.com. “He might’ve been looking for clams or sand crabs.”

Exactly how the dog survived is unclear, but Kelley said Coast Guard officials told her the dog might have survived on dead seagulls found on the island. But by the time a local man, “Muskrat” Jack Neary, successfully trapped Buddy on Monday, the once-35-pound dog had dropped to just 19 pounds.

Kelley’s husband, Charles, said he still can’t fathom how Buddy made it back home.

“I’m still walking around in a funk, it’s hard to believe,” he told FoxNews.com. “I mean, is this true? It’s hard to believe.”

Edith Kelley, whose son Patrick cares for Buddy, said the family is simply “ecstatic” to be reunited with their “miracle” dog.

“I couldn’t believe it — after 98 days,” she said. “And he’s behaving like he never left. He didn’t go feral.”

Salt Lake City, Utah — When a 2-year-old Australian shepherd named Millie went missing, her family assumed she had been picked up by Animal Control officers and would be waiting for them to come get her. Especially since she was well known for jumping the fence to go on solo adventures through the neighborhood.

But this time, the Garr family was shocked to find there was no dog waiting for them after several attempts were made to call and locate their missing pet. A day went by, then two, then a week, and then three weeks passed. Still, no sign of Millie.

According to Desert News, it was a teenage girl that finally discovered the missing dog when she heard barking coming from a storm drain. She immediately called 911 so officers could free the trapped victim. Animal Control officers recognized the dog immediately and were able to take her home for a tearful reunion with her family.

Amazingly, Millie is none the worse for her ordeal, other than jumping into her warm bed and needing a good meal.

UPDATED: Have You Seen A Missing Guide Dog Puppy In Lodi, California?

Admin: Kenn Bell
Categories: Missing, News

Missing_Lodi_PuppyBy Ross Farrow For News-Sentinel

UPDATED: LODI, CA – A family is reunited after their guide dog puppy made a great escape. Three month old Gannon managed to escape his Lodi home last Friday, through the kitty door.

When Alexis Green, his raiser, realized he was gone, she called Guide Dogs For The Blind and started scouring the neighborhood. She made missing posters and put them up everywhere. The next day, someone mentioned they had seen a couple pick up a black puppy that was wandering the neighborhood.

Fortunately, a friend of the couple had seen the poster and told them about the missing guide dog. The couple had taken Gannon to their home in the Valley Springs area. After an agonizing week without Gannon, Alexis finally received a call Friday that her precious puppy was safe and sound. The two were reunited, and the kitty door Gannon escaped from has been downsized.

Original Story:

A 3-month-old puppy who was being trained to become a guide dog has been missing since Friday.

Lodi-area resident Cyndy Green said the puppy her daughter was training escaped from their property in the area of Armstrong and Davis roads, southwest of Lodi. However, on Saturday, a dog matching his description was seen between 1:30 and 2 p.m. on Thornton Road, north of Eight Mile Road, according to Jim Russell, a community field representative for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Fifteen to 30 minutes later, someone reported seeing a similar-looking dog being picked up and put in a car, but it hasn’t been determined if it was the missing dog, Russell said. There was no description of the car.

Green and Guide Dog officials searched the area Saturday for the dog, Russell said.

The dog, named Gannon, is a black male Labrador Retriever. He has a black collar with a Guide Dog tag and has tattoos in both ears (small dots that consist of letters or numbers).

Gannon is owned by Guide Dogs for the Blind. He and other dogs are raised in homes until they are 15 to 18 months old. Then they begin their formal guide dog work and are matched with blind people, said Guide Dogs spokeswoman Denise St. Jean.

While in family homes, the dogs are trained to have excellent house manners, and family members socialize them by introducing them to new people, places and experiences, St. Jean said.

Anyone who may have seen Gannon may call Russell at 669-7657 or Guide Dogs for the Blind at (800) 295-4050.

Dog Scared Off By Police Gun Shots Found

Admin: Kenn Bell

From News Channel 3 Memphis

(Memphis 10/25/2009) – Anna Bolton is elated her dog, Violet, is back where she belongs. A woman found the scared pup hiding underneath her deck. She called police. They in turn called Bolton to let her know Violet had been found.

“I can’t even tell you I’m just absolutely shocked that’s she’s home. I never thought I would see her again. We’re ecstatic. We can’t believe it. We’re so happy,” said Bolton.

This all started when Memphis police opened fire on a dog while responding to a burglary call at Bolton’s house in the High Point Terrace neighborhood. One dog was shot. The other ran away. The owner was convinced she would never see her again but is happy that’s not how the story turned out.

Bolton and her mother spent a good deal of the day hanging balloons and making thank you signs to put on the front lawn.

“I’ve seen the worst of people in the last few days but I have also seen the absolute best of our city,” said Bolton.

The worst when someone texted Bolton demanding money for the Violet’s return. Police arrested 25 year old Lashira McClain on an extortion charge. Bolton saw the best in all the people who showed concern for her and the dogs over the last 2 days. This includes the 3 Memphis police officers who helped her find the dog.

Bolton said, “They couldn’t have been any nicer. They couldn’t have been anymore helpful. Couldn’t have been any happier for me. They couldn’t have been anymore gentle with Violet in trying to coax her from underneath the deck.”

Still, Bolton is convinced the officers who responded to the burglar alarm at her home did not follow procedure. She’s going to fight to see that the police department add more training for officers who have to deal with animals.

“If the post man and post woman can deal with animals on a daily basis and deal with them correctly and know how to do it, then the MPD ought to,” said Bolton.

She advises all pet owners to put stickers in their windows that alert police and fire animals are in the home. She didn’t have those at the time of the shooting.

Windcrest, Texas Police Get Rocky, Their Top Dog Back

Admin: Kenn Bell
Categories: Law Enforcement, Military, Missing, News

windcrest_K9By Eva Ruth Moravec For Express-News

Rocky, the Windcrest Police Department’s canine that went missing Tuesday afternoon, was safely returned home Thursday.

Rocky’s handler, Officer Adam Lee, said the program director of Lackland AFB’s 341st training squadron, which trains military working dogs, found him — apparently soon after Rocky got out of his kennel in Lee’s backyard near the base around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The director took Rocky home, believing he was Lackland’s, and it took him about a day to determine all of his dogs were accounted for, Lee said.

Thursday morning, the man saw news reports about the search for Rocky and called Windcrest police dispatch, who shared the news with Lee around 7:30 a.m.

“I can’t even explain how happy I am,” Lee said. “He’s stuck to my hip forever.”

On Wednesday, Windcrest offered a $1,000 reward for the safe return of the 2 1/2-year-old Belgian Malinois. Rocky and Lee have been partners since 2008, when the dual-purpose canine joined the force.
