UPDATED: Dog Files Adoption Day! All Six Dogs Have Been Saved!

UPDATE 3: Incredible News! All 6 dog’s have been pulled from the Kill Shelter. Buddy has a forever home. The rest are in boarding till a foster steps up or they get a forever home. Thanks so much for everything you’ve done to help!

Thanks!

UPDATE 2: We have great news! Because so many people stepped up and donated and helped find homes for the dogs, 5 of the 6 are now in foster. It’s a great first step, but they still need forever homes, so please contact us if you are interested in Coco, Bear, Joann or Mimi.

With all the good news, we still have one poor dog left. Regina the Pit Bull is still looking for a way out of the kill shelter. Please help us get here out by donating or fostering or adopting her. Donation-wise we need at least $200.00 to get her out of the kill shelter. Please Donate! WE CAN ONLY DO IT WITH YOUR HELP!

If we step up, this month’s adoption drive will be 6 for 6! Please do what you can do to help.

If you can help Regina in any way, please email Melody right here or call 510-709-6680 or donate right here on this page.

Thanks!

REGINA – ID#625166 – DUE TO BE EUTHANIZED ON 10/7

My name is Regina and I am a female, white and tan Pit Bull Terrier mix, I am about 1 year old. I am a very spunky and happy girl! I love to play and run around doing zoomies. I hate the shelter because I don’t get to run around much, I wish I had a big backyard to run around and play in. I would love to go on long walks and be around people that I love very much. If you are looking for a buddy to hike and run with I am your girl!

UPDATE: Coco is now safe with a foster and is looking for a home. Buddy had been adopted into his forever home! We have some interest in the other dogs, but nothing solid yet.

Please help spread the word and/or donate, so we can help the four remaining dogs find their true forever home. We only have a few more days. To get the dogs out of the kill shelter we have to put them up in boarding while we find a foster or a forever home. The boarding is about $200 for two weeks. We also can’t take the dogs from the kill shelter unless we pay for their spay/neuter which can run $75.00 to 125.00 per dog. All these costs add up. You guys have been incredibly generous with your donations so far! If you haven’t already, please donate!

If you can help the four remaining dogs or want to adopt Coco, please email Melody right here or call 510-709-6680.

Thanks!

These dogs are currently located at the Martinez California Animal Shelter near San Francisco. If you are interested in any of the dogs listed or have any additional questions please email email us here or call 510-709-6680. Please include your phone number so we can expedite things if you want to adopt. As always, we don’t have much time here. These dogs are scheduled to be put down in days!

We realize the Dog Files is a national website. So if you aren’t in the area, please don’t think you can’t help save one of our dogs. We will work with you to the best of our ability, to get the dog you chose, to you. Please open your heart to a shelter dog in need!

There are many ways you can help if you are unable to adopt one of the pups.

1. Sharing this post on twitter, facebook, email, craigslist, everyone you know and to rescue groups and no-kills in your area.

2. Fostering a dog by taking one into your home (and away certain death at the shelter) and taking care of it while you (with our help) look for it’s forever home.

3. Donating a few dollars to the Dog Files so we can help get the dogs out of the high kill shelter and chip in for the medical treatment that might be necessary.

4. Get the word out for people to follow the Dog Files on our Facebook Fan Page and Twitter!

I wish I lived closer. I would take Bear in a heartbeat. He looks like a dog I lost a while ago….

I’ve personally spent time with Coco and Buddy. Coco is has a lot of energy. He knows his ‘sit’, appears to be quite friendly toward other dogs, and may be partially potty trained already. Buddy would make a great couch potato companion. He’s not interested in playing with other dogs, not interested in fetch. All he wants is to put his head in your lap and cuddle. What a sweet guy. Both of them really.

I see Coco has been saved but what about the 2 chihuahua sisters…they are adorable. I hope they get saved tomorrow along with the other ones in the pictures. These stories make me sad, knowing I can’t save them all. 🙁

Seeing those pictures…..Well…..Brings tears to my eyes. I just had to put my friend down after 17 years of love from her. If I was closer I’d bring one home.

That would be awesome, Lisa! If all but the pits are taken care of, we can concentrate on finding the pitties homes, which is always harder.
