UPDATED: Give A Dog A Second Chance At Life! Adoption File: 05/09/10, St. Pauls, NC

UPDATE: As of May 12, Maddy is out of the shelter and on her way to New York because of the help of a good samaritan. We should have more info on her later.

The other four dogs have been placed on hold because of a donation from a Dog File Fan. This means we have a few days to find them a forever home, no-kill shelter or a foster home to get them out of the high kill shelter.

We are almost there! WE NEED YOUR HELP!

These dogs are currently located at the Robeson County Shelter in St, Pauls, North Carolina. If you are interested in any of the dogs listed or have any additional questions please email us here or call 510-709-6680. Please include your phone number so we can expedite things if you want to adopt. We don’t have much time here.

We realize the Dog Files is a National website. So if you aren’t in the area, please don’t think you can’t help save one of our dogs. We will work with you to the best of our ability to get the dog you chose to you. Please open your heart to a shelter dog in need!

There are many ways you can help if you are unable to adopt one of the pups.

1. Sharing this post on twitter, facebook, email, craigslist, everyone you know and to rescue groups and no-kills in your area.

2. Fostering a dog by taking one into your home (and away certain death at the shelter) and taking care of it while you (with our help) look for it’s forever home.

3. Donating a few bucks to the Dog Files so we can help get the dogs out of the high kill shelter and chip in for the medical treatment that might be necessary.

4. Get the word out for people to follow the Dog Files on our Facebook Fan Page and Twitter!

If you live near the shelter, their hours are : Monday through Friday from 10am-5pm., Saturday from 10 am – noon

Sherwood: ID#42176: DUE TO BE EUTHANIZED 5/10!

(Below) Hi, my name is Sherwood (ID#42176). I’m a chow mix, I’m still very young and would love a yard to run in. Maddy: ID#42418: DUE TO BE EUTHANIZED 5/10!

(Below) My name is Maddy (ID#42418), I’m a Shepherd mix. I love being petted! I don’t make much noise, I heard them say that’s a good thing. It get’s really cold at night at this place, the noise sometimes can get very scary also. I wish I could lay in a comfy bed in a toasty warm home…won’t you please give me a home?

Benny: ID#32986: DUE TO BE EUTHANIZED 5/10!

(Below) Hi, Benny here (ID#32986), I’m a Rottweiler mix. I heard I’m a “special needs” dog, does that mean I’m special? I hope so…I don’t like the cold hard floor, my body hurts from something called Mange. I heard it’s treatable though, I really wish I could be treated. They said my time is almost up, that doesn’t sound to good. Can you save me?

Malcolm: ID#42223: DUE TO BE EUTHANIZED 5/10!

(Below) Hi, I’m Malcolm (ID#42223), I’m a Boxer/Pit mix. I’m a very happy boy! I dream of a good home every night and hope everyday my dream will come true. I heard my time is almost up, I wish my forever home will come and make my dreams come true before it’s to late. Would you make my dreams come true? I will love you forever if you do!

Molly: ID#42199: DUE TO BE EUTHANIZED 5/10!

(Below) Hi, my name is Molly (ID#42199), I’m a Shepherd/Chow mix. I know this photo isn’t the best of me but I’m actually very cute. I’m really scared of this place, I don’t like the loud noises all around me. I heard them say I need to get out of here ASAP, I sure wish I can make it out…I heard there is something call a “home” where you can sleep on comfy beds and play in the backyard. Is that true? Can you bring me home?

No Kill Shelters have a limit to the dogs they will take. Say 100, or 200. When they hit that number they don't take any more.

I have no idea what you are talking about. This isn't OUR shelter. It's a high kill shelter in North Carolina.

Oh, this is heart breaking…don’t you foster out dogs? Don’t you do “thee ol’ switch-ah-roo” with other shelters in your area when you both have animals you can’t find a home for, you switch with another shelter to give second chances…take turns dropping off and picking up.

Dear Dog files: I have called about Sherwood #42176 and was told this is an old picture and ad. How heartbreaking as he looks just like my Fritz who died last week. I would drive to North Carolina to get. I am a resecurer too. Please if, some one adopted him and he was not put to sleep could you contact people who adopted and see if there is a problem and they don’t want him anymore or can’t keep him? I will drive from Florida and pay for Sherwood. Brokenhearted in Florida.. Penny Elliott, [email protected] or phone: 386-402-8498…have voice mail. I hope Sherwood was not put down. I had my Fritz Von Baron over 13 years my best friend…Sherwood look so sweet just like him. Please answer me. Thank you..Penny Elliott
