Many people are interested in the outcome of this naughty pup. Yes, we’re talking about Winston, the infamous police car chewing boxer-bull mix. After 2 weeks in doggy jail and a day in court, Winston is finally been given the okay to return home.

It all began Sunday, March 14 on Workman Road in Chattanooga, Tenn. A police car was checking for speeders with his radar when his car started to shake. The officers were dumbfounded and didn’t know what to do.

Judge Sherry Paty ruled that Winston had been a very bad dog. He was sentenced to obedience and canine good citizen classes, and he’ll have to wear a tag that says he is “potentially dangerous.” However, that could be dropped if no other problems or vehicle chewing occurs during the next six month time period.

From From USAToday

Life gets getter better and better for Olympic gold medalist Steve Holcomb. Holcomb and his four-man bobsled team upset the German powerhouse at the Vancouver Olympics and won the USA’s first gold in the event since 1948.

While he was visiting the Today show after the Olympics on March 5, he fell head over heels in love with a dog. During the weekly rescue segment, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever caught Holcomb’s eye. At the end of the show, the show announced Holcomb had offered to adopt the dog.

Today, the Golden gets his golden Olympian. The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals is flying Bailey to Denver to be with Holcomb.

Bailey was brought to Animal Care and Control of NYC on Feb. 23. Her owner had abandonned her by leaving her with someone and never returning. Holcomb said there was an instant connection when he saw the dog.

The dog’s death appeared to be premeditated and well planned.

Last week Penny Kotterman discovered that her dog, Jaeger, had been poisoned in the backyard of her Ahwatukee Foothills home, near Wildwood Drive and 14th Avenue.

“I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 16 years. I’ve never had any complaints about him,” said Kotterman of Jaeger, the German Shepherd/Chow mix her son got for her two years ago from a rescue shelter.

But there is no question that it was a deliberate act.

Muzzle it!

That’s the word in Piscataway, N.J. as officials try to put dog owners on a financial leash if they can’t keep their pets quiet for all 24 hours of the day.

In the town about 35 miles northeast of Trenton, an ordinance about incessant barking between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. has been expanded to include barking at any time of day.

And, yes, residents could be fined.

“That’s not fair at all. Dogs shouldn’t be scrutinized for what?” resident Anthony Brullo told CBS Affiliate WCBS. “They’re talking! Talking is their barking!”

The ordinance was expanded to include round-the-clock complaints because the town got about 400 animal noise complaints last year.

Want To Look Rich In China? Buy A Tibetan Mastiff

From The Associated Press

BEIJING — China’s latest must-have luxury for the ultra-rich, to go with mansions and sports cars, is a large, slobbery dog with massive amounts of hair best known for herding sheep in Tibet.

Once banned by the Communist Party as bourgeois, pet ownership is booming in China, and the Tibetan mastiff is the dog of the moment for those who want to spread their wealth beyond stocks and real estate.

“I used to invest in German shepherds, but Tibetan mastiffs are what’s hot right now,” said Sui Huizheng, a business owner who has about 20 of the dogs and attended the 6th annual China Tibetan Mastiff Expo this past weekend.

Hundreds of the hairy dogs were on hand, and owners and handlers marched the most expensive ones down catwalks as though they were fashion models. Some carried the names of wealthy Americans like “Warren Buffett,” while others were called “God” and “Prince.” Among the owners was a controversial running coach who trained world track champions in the 1980s.

Their hoped-for prize: breeders willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a mate for their mastiff. Sui spent $43,000 for a large platform and a poster-plastered booth to show off his dogs. One breeding session with Sui’s top mastiff King goes for $40,000.
