TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) – Sheriff’s deputies are searching the desert west of Tucson looking for body parts after a dog brought home a human skull.
It’s all happening near West Orange Grove and Sandario Road on the west side of the Tucson Mountains.
The family that owns the dog called 911 late Monday afternoon.
Deputies searched last night and today on foot, ATV, on horseback, and from the air.
They also brought out their cadaver dog to search.
Lacey Mitchell grew up in this area, and just moved back.
“I’ve lived out in this area for a long time,” she said. “We’re used to finding backpacks and stuff from illegals coming through, but this is the first human skull I’ve heard of.”
A sheriff’s spokesperson says there was still tissue attached to the skull, so it had not been out there for very long.
The medical examiner has not been able to determine cause of death, but we’re told the skull has some “unnatural defects.”
Omg! I wonder if the dog knew whos body it was? Hmmm. . . I guess they’ll find the body eventiolly.
