UK — A Beagle cross has become the oldest dog in the world after racking up an incredible 147 dog years — thanks to her weekly trip to the PUB.
Lulu, who is 21 in human years, is deaf, walks with a limp and is practically blind, which means she often bumps into walls by mistake.
But her owner Travis Buckley reckons the hustle and bustle of their trip to the local has helped keep her mind active and on her toes for so long.

Your dog is missing. You’ve spent a month doing everything you could to find him. When do you give up? Is he alive? Is he dead?
A Virginia couple recently went through just this. They finally came to the conclusion that their beloved dog, Deacon must have died. That was until they got a phone call from an animal control officer in regards to her missing dog. At first, Pamela Holt thought it was a ‘mean trick’ but later realized her dog was really found. Their pup was alive & well… 600 miles away in Deland, Florida.
A convenience store clerk saw Deacon and another dog running around in traffic last week and called animal control. Both the dogs were safely taken to the kennel where the microchip implanted in Deacon helped track down the Holts.
Though it may be a long drive from Virginia to Deland, Florida. It was definitely worth the trip. The Holts picked up Deacon this past weekend and will probably never know how their dog travelled 600 miles.
If only dog’s could talk.

Michelle Brown was apprehensive when her parents talked to her about getting a canine assistant to help her in school. But Sylvia, a golden retriever-yellow Lab mix, has changed her life, 13-year-old Michelle said.
“She has changed my life because it makes it easier for me to go to school — and know that everybody likes me a lot more, and they don’t pay attention to my disability as much,” said Michelle, who has seizures from cerebral palsy. “She’ll never judge me. She’ll always want to help me, and she will do whatever she can to make me happy.”
Sylvia is known among teachers and students at John T. Baker Middle School in Damascus, where Michelle is an eighth-grader, although she has not attended this school year because of a hip injury.

Holly’s life didn’t start off good, in fact it was quite horrific. In mid-December, Holly was dragged for nearly 2 miles behind a pick up truck. In addition to a fractured left hind leg, Holly’s back toes had to be amputated when it was ground halfway through the bone.
“Her right knee was all the way down to her knee cap, and she had every single toe down to the bone on all legs, as well as multiple areas on her body where road rash went through to the bone,†said Dr. Leonard Fox, who’s been overseeing Holly’s care, since Dec. 14.
Now at 18 month old, the pit bull/lab mix is finally ready for a home to call her own. After seven weeks of intense medical treatment at the Animal Hospital of West Port St. Lucie, Holly has recovered and is now healthy and will not require any more medical treatment.
The Humane Society is waiving the $90 adoption fee, which covers all cost of vaccinations, spaying, medical exam, and microchip said Robertson.
“She’s great with people,†he said. “She’s a wonderful dog. Since she’s gotten better, she’s rediscovered her puppyhood. She bounces and plays all day. She loves to chase cats, in a playful way, and has quite an appetite for shoes.â€
Holly’s life may have not started off well, but with the care and guidance of her rescuers, they are making sure she will never hurt again.
