BELTSVILLE, Md. — Prince George’s County fire officials said a family’s barking dog alerted them to a fire and enabled them to escape without injury. The fire was reported about 6 a.m. Tuesday in Beltsville. Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady said the dog, Monster, a Doberman, was outside the house when the fire broke out.
Brady said Monster barked and jumped repeatedly on a rear sliding door. The noise awakened the family, who then heard the smoke alarm and fled the two-story, single family home. There were three adults and five children in the home.
It took 30 firefighters 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control. One firefighter suffered a burn to his upper body and was treated and released at a local hospital.
Brady said the fire caused $250,000 in damage.
Man's best friend proves it again. Shouldn't we be dogs best friend in return and not be sitting by while dogs along with other animals are skinned alive in China? Shouldn't we be fighting for the dogs in Korea who are hung and blugeoned to death as a means of celebrating a holiday? Or fighting to put an end to dog fights right here in the US? Are you doing anything to put a stop to dogs and other animals being tortured in research labs? Is this how we treat our best friend? Yep. And it was a DOBERMAN this time. Oh! But they are such a vicious breed!!! I hope everyone reading this realizes that Doberman, Rotty's, Pitbulls, etc, ARE NOT VICIOUS breeds. The dog is a direct reflection of its owner. Hmmmmm. Just like a child would be. Imagine that!
