Adoptathon With Cesar Millan

This past weekend the Dog Files attended the Pet Adoptathon at the North Shore Animal League in Long Island. This is a huge adoption drive in its fifteenth year and over 2000 shelters across the world participated in this 36 hour marathon event.

And as an added bonus, this year’s spokesperson was Cesar Milan, of Dog Whisperer fame, and we’ve got an exclusive interview with him. I have to say that Cesar is a great “human” and continues to give back with the Millan Foundation, a non-profit set up to give funding and support to shelters across the country.

The DogFiles would like to thank Devera and Dianne and everybody at the North Shore Animal League for inviting us to their incredible event!

    I got my beautyful and adorable puppy from adoptathon 2009 , I was there at 5 Am with my kids and we were 1st place on the line , that day was awesome because we adopt a 8 weeks puppy at the same time meet Cesar Milan !!ohhhh yeahhh

    Dog rescues are terrific. My wife and I have two dogs, the first one we got from a breeder, the second from a rescue. We went to a dog rescue for two reasons; one to help the poor dogs who need a home and second, was so we wouldn't have to go through the puppy stage. We worked with main line animal rescue out of philadelphia and they were terrific!

    Great video! My wife and I have two dogs. The first we bought was a labrador from a breeder. However, after learning about some of the great dogs available through rescues, it was a perfect fit. We didn’t want a puppy, so we were able to get an older lab from a rescue from MainLine Animal Rescue outside of Philadelphia. These are great services, especially if you don’t want to deal with the tough puppy stages!

    Cesar Rocks! – He has helped me deal with a strong willed and physically strong boxer that we recently adopted.l He is now a full and cherished member of my family. Cesar was so correct about dogs NEEDING a strong pack leader.

    I live around a lot of farmers who keep their dog alone outside and i try to tell them dogs are pack together kind of animals and they can go neurotic,etc. the dogs have feelings, fear, happiness aloneness etc. THINK WHAT DOES THE DOG NEED! ITS SO SIMPLE? read a book people !!!!! a dog is an investment too -i don’t understand why people just think they know enough ??? there are zoo olgy courses. vets study for 7yr or something. why do we think we know it all -u r right /most of the pet abusers never treat their kids good too. thats true for my dad and a shepherd we had and myself!
