On Thursday, July 10th at 8PM Eastern a new reality show, Greatest American Dog, premieres on CBS. Let us pause for a moment of reflection…….HOLY S#*T!!! A dog show on primetime?! Yes, there are quite a few dog shows on cable, but on the big three? I think we’ve reached the big time, ladies and gentleman.

Here’s what they say about the show on their web site, Greatest American Dog.

Twelve extraordinary teams of dogs and owners from across the nation from “pageant dogs” to those simply trained at home, will live together and compete against each other in challenges that put the owners’ ability to train their dogs to the test. Each week, the judges will eliminate one dog and their owner. The last remaining team will walk away with a $250,000 cash prize and the title of GREATEST AMERICAN DOG.

Okay, I’m in, sign me up. I’ll be watching on Thursday, will you? And most importantly, will the rest of the nation? I certainly hope so. Dogs shows in prime time can only help the future of The Dog Files! Keep your tails crossed!
